Daryl Mitchell drives New Zealand to commanding position
Daryl Mitchell‘s prize innings put New Zealand in a commanding position at stumps on the second day of the Trent Bridge Test, despite a couple of late blemishes proving he’s only human and that England must take whatever chances they get. Coinex™ – Coinex Exchange AdCoinEX Led by Mitchell’s 190, New Zealand posted a first-innings total of 553, their highest score on English soil, after he and fellow centurion Tom Blundell put on a 236-run stand, their country’s highest-ever fifth-wicket partnership. England wobbled, losing Zak Crawley in the second over of their response, but then Ollie Pope showed intent with an unbeaten half-century as he made use of an excellent batting pitch – and some good fortune. Mitchell, dropped on 3 and 104 amid a rash…

Rassie van der Dussen: ‘When Shreyas dropped me, I knew I had to make India pay’
“To be honest, I thought 150 would have been a very good total.” That was Ishan Kishan speaking to host broadcaster Star Sports after he helped India post 211 for 4 against South Africa in the first T20I in Delhi. The reason behind Kishan’s assessment was not only did the new ball move off the seam, but it also didn’t come onto the bat well. Even if Kishan was slightly off the mark, India’s should have been a winning total. And it looked so when South Africa were 86 for 3 after ten overs in their chase. At that stage, Rassie van der Dussen was batting on 15 off 16. David Miller had just joined him and was on 4 off five. South Africa…

We know our top three’s quality and will give them lot of clarity: Dravid
The troika of skipper Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and the peerless Virat Kohli might have faced a lot of flak for their dated T20 batting approach but head coach Rahul Dravid understands their quality and expects them to give “good, positive starts” going into the World Cup. Rohit, Rahul and Kohli’s approach in the powerplay overs during the last World T20 came under the scanner but Dravid gave clear hints that he is in no mood to tinker with the top three even though regular skipper and the team’s No. 1 batter have been rested from the series against South Africa. “We know our top three’s quality. They are top class. There will be a slightly different top three in…

Joe Root can break Sachin Tendulkar’s all-time Test record of most runs, says THIS former captain Mark Taylor
Former Australia captain Mark Taylor has tipped England’s charismatic cricketer Joe Root to surpass Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar’s record for most runs in Test match history. Root, who handed over England’s Test captaincy reins to all-rounder Ben Stokes to concentrate on his batting, scored a fine unbeaten century to guide the home team to a five-wicket win against the Kane Williamson-led New Zealand at Lord`s on Sunday to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. In guiding England to a morale-boosting win, Root surpassed the 10,000-run mark to become just the 14th cricketer to score 10,000 Test runs. Root has a total of 10,015 Test runs and is 5,906 behind Tendulkar, who notched up 15,921 in a career spanning…

Stuart Broad delivers on promise to give his all in Test comeback
In the gloomy half-light of an overcast Lord’s morning, Stuart Broad was, at one stage, the only cricketer on the outfield as the groundstaff peeled back the covers and prepared for the delayed resumption. Out he frolicked, down the pavilion steps. Headband in place and with nothing less than a yippity-skip in his step, as he bounded to the edge of the square to get busy with his warm-ups. It needn’t have been a remarkable sight, except that there was such a palpable joy to his antics – an old dog turned spring chicken, in the midst of his 153rd Test and days shy of his 36th birthday, setting himself to attack England’s drifting match situation. Extra Large Rugs Sale…
