Wasim Jaffer makes a BOLD prediction on Virat Kohli’s future in India’s T20I side

Former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer has made a bold prediction regarding Virat Kohli’s spot in India’s T20I side, given the legendary batsman’s struggles of late. Kohli hasn’t been able to score a single century since 2019, and he has been horribly out of form for the past months.  With young players like Ishan Kishan, Deepak Hooda, Sanju Samson among others knocking on the door, one has to wonder how many chances Kohli will be given, before his status as an automatic starter comes under a threat.  Free Equity Release Calculator for over 60s AdAge Partnership With the T20I World Cup in Australia later this year, the fight for spots in the Indian team will only get tougher and tougher.  Jaffer…

India thrash England to clinch T20 series

Rohit Sharma’s inspirational leadership and an aggressive brand new approach saw India completely outclass England by 49 runs in the second T20 International to seal the three-match series with an unassailable 2-0 lead here on Saturday. Batting first, India once again showed a start-to-finish aggressive intent while reaching 170 for eight riding on new ‘batting all-rounder’ Ravindra Jadeja (46 not out off 29 balls) after a sudden collapse during the middle-phase on a track full of pace and bounce. With the ball, Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s (3/15) new found rhythm in the powerplay overs was superbly complemented by the skilful duo of Jasprit Bumrah (2/10) and Yuzevndra Chahal (2/10) as England innings imploded for a meagre 121 in 17 overs. If India’s…

Ravindra Jadeja deletes posts related to CSK, sparks rumours of rift

Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper Ravindra Jadeja has removed all posts related to the team’s 2021 and 2022 seasons from his official Instagram account in an indication that all is not well between the all-rounder and the IPL franchise. Jadeja was named the captain of the CSK earlier this year after MS Dhoni relinquished his captaincy ahead of the IPL 2022 season. However, the all-rounder stepped down halfway through the 2022 season as the captaincy was impacting his individual performance. MS Dhoni took back charge of the team and Jadeja was later ruled out of the IPL with a rib injury, before returning on the England tour. Slightly over two months ago, the all-rounder ended a forgettable IPL season…

Kapil Dev: ‘If Kohli isn’t performing, you can’t keep youngsters out’

Utilise those players who are in form, don’t go by reputation alone, and prepare to make tough calls even if it happens to be someone of the stature of Virat Kohli: this is essentially Kapil Dev’s message to India’s selectors as they build towards this year’s T20 World Cup in Australia. “Play in-form players when you have loads of options,” Kapil told ABP News. “You can’t just go by reputation, but you have to look for current form. You can be an established player but that doesn’t mean that you will be given chances even if you fail five games in a row.” Kapil was asked specifically if Kohli can fit into India’s current plans given his own lean run…

England lose first T20 of Jos Buttler’s captaincy by 50 runs

England lost their first match under new captain Jos Buttler as Hardik Pandya inspired India to a dominant 50-run victory in the first Twenty20 at the Ageas Bowl. After his side were set a challenging target of 199, Buttler was out for a first-ball duck, bowled by a Bhuvneshwar Kumar inswinger. Hardik then removed Dawid Malan for 21, Liam Livingstone for another duck and Jason Roy for a tortured four from 16 balls, all in his first seven deliveries. England were 33-4 after 6.1 overs and could not recover as they were bowled out in the final over for 148. All-rounder Hardik finished with 4-33 to add to his 51 from 33 balls – the highest score in India’s 198-8.…

My own fans turned against me after taking Sachin Tendulkar’s wicket: THIS pacer makes BIG revelation

India cricketer Mohit Sharma recalled how his fans turned against him when he — while playing for Haryana against Mumbai in Lahli — scalped the prize wicket of master blaster Sachin Tendulkar on five in the first innings in 2013. Mohit’s joy soon turned into despair as after the wicket, his own fans started yelling at him in the stadium. “Ajay (Jadeja) bhai is quite expressive on and off the field both. I was bowling when Sachin Paaji came in to bat. The wicket in Lahli is quite conducive for bowling and Ajay bhai told me to try and get Paaji to play on the front foot. And exactly the same happened as the ball pitched on off and nipped…

‘Time To Delete Twitter, Paaji’ Fans Diss Virender Sehwag’s ‘Unconstructive’ Tweet After Loss

Both Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow went for their individual hundreds and made sure to stay in the middle until the task was completed, making the Indian bowling attach appear hopeless. The fans did not like former Indian batter Virender Sehwag’s comment after the defeat. The two England veterans pulled off a stunning run-chase, the highest by the Three Lions in Test matches, to prevent what at one point appeared to be an easy victory for India. Both Bairstow and Root combined for 269 runs for the fourth wicket as England defeated India by seven wickets at Edgbaston to win the test match and draw the highly anticipated series at 2-2 despite needing an absurd 378 runs to win in the fourth innings. …

The successful chase of 378 is also the highest they have chased ever in Test cricket. Source

IND vs ENG, 5th Test: Root, Bairstow slam unbeaten fifties to lead England’s mammoth chase

Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow slammed unbeaten fifties to lead England’s mammoth chase of 378 against India on day four of rescheduled fifth Test at Edgbaston on Monday. At stumps, the hosts were 259/3 in 57 overs, needing just 119 on a sold-out final day to level the five-match series being played for the Pataudi Trophy. On a day on which rain chose not to interrupt play, England made merry as Root and Bairstow went back to the dressing room after making 76 off 110 balls and 73 off 89 deliveries respectively. Before this, on a pitch that had variable bounce and some turn for spinners, England took out the last seven Indian wickets for 120 runs, with Ben Stokes…

It will be memorable if we win this series: Mohammed Siraj

“It was a memorable series in Australia (in 2020-21). This will also be memorable (if we win),” Mohammed Siraj told media after the third day’s play in the fifth and final Test against England. The Hyderabad fast bowler took four wickets for 66 in the home side’s first innings to emerge as India’s most successful bowler. India is leading 2-1 in the series. A victory in the current match will ensure a series triumph. Revealing India’s thinking while bowling, he said: “We had to be patient given (Jonny) Bairstow’s form.” He added it was an advantage that India had “140 km plus bowlers”. Referring to the second day when it rained frequently to cause stoppages in play, he admitted: “Rain…
