An Instagram bug led to follower counts of celebrities, influencers and even ordinary people being gutted yesterday. Cristiano Ronaldo, the most followed person on Instagram, lost 3 million followers during the outage. At around 2.15 pm the footballer’s Instagram following had dropped by 3 million but that number is back up to 493 million now that Instagram has fixed the glitch. During the outage that lasted nearly eight hours, Kylie Jenner, the most followed woman on Instagram, lost over 1.1 million followers in the outage, according to CrowdTangle.
