In one such instance, an Indian man shared that he was eliminated from his position at Microsoft after working with the company for over 21 years. “Microsoft was my first job after college, and I still remember coming over to a foreign land all nervous and excited, wondering what life has in store for me. Microsoft fires 10,000 employees: Here is CEO Satya Nadella’s full letter to employees
Microsoft might be wildly profitable at the moment, but just like other big profitable companies — most notably Google and Facebook — the company is letting go of a part of its workforce. The company on Wednesday night announced that it has decided to fire 10,000 employees, around 5 per cent of its total workforce. Some employees who are losing their jobs will be notified immediately, while some other job cuts will happen in the coming months and days. The move was widely expected, given that there is a sort of slowdown in the tech industry. Fearing adverse headwinds in future, big tech companies — even they are profitable at the moment — have gone on a firing spree. Both…

Fake ChatGPT apps become popular on Google, Apple stores; here’s what to keep in mind
The new AI-powered chatbot ‘ChatGPT’, which was launched in November last year has been quickly growing popular for its ability to generate incredibly convincing human-like responses to people’s queries. However, some developers are trying to cash in on the hype of the chatbot and creating fake versions of the app both on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store, defrauding people by charging for an otherwise free product. Some of these fake apps have even garnered fake positive reviews and are getting ranked among the most popular apps. For instance, before it was removed from the App Store, an app called ‘Chat GPT AI with GPT-3’ had managed to garner thousands of downloads and positive reviews. The app…

Apple iPhone 16 Pro may feature under-display Face ID
Apple‘s upcoming iPhone 16 Pro model will reportedly feature under-display Face ID technology to provide a more usable display area. The tech giant is likely to place the parts needed for Face ID authentication directly under the iPhone’s display next year, reports MacRumors. The TrueDepth camera for Face ID won’t be visible under the display when it is not in use, instead, it will appear seamlessly blended with the surrounding screen area. The hole in the display for the front camera is expected to remain on the iPhone 16 Pro, however, the overall display area and sense of immersion are likely to be improved. Since the under-display technology is not yet ready, the display cutouts will not change from the iPhone 14 Pro to…
