IT minister comes down heavily on WhatsApp for sharing wrong map of India, platform apologies
Union Minister of State for Electronics and Technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, came down like a ton of bricks on Whatsapp, directing the social media platform to remove the wrong map of India posted by it on Twitter. The minister also issued a caveat for the companies, saying that if they want to continue their operation in India, they must use the correct map of the country. “Dear Whatsapp – Request that you please fix the India map error as soon as possible,”[Sic] the minister wrote in a tweet. “All platforms that do business in India and/or want to continue to do business in India, must use correct maps,” he further wrote. Mobile, internet usage to drive India’s digital ad spend to $21 billion by 2028
With the significant surge in the use of smartphones and Internet, digital ad spending in India is likely to reach $21 billion by 2028, a report showed on Tuesday. iPhone 16 to be made in India, Apple and 3 allied companies apply for land
As Apple plans to manufacture the new iPhone 16 in India, the tech giant along with three associated companies has applied for land to Yamuna Authority. The companies have proposed to set up a unit on about 23 acres of land with an investment of Rs 2,800 crore. Tesla launches its own AirPower-like wireless charger
Elon Musk-owned electric vehicle company Tesla has launched its own Wireless Charging Platform, a wireless charger that can charge up to three Qi devices at one time. The concept of Tesla’s charging mat is similar to Apple’s AirPower in that the three devices can be placed anywhere on it and receive up to 15 watts of power each, reports MacRumors. Apple working on tech to make AR feel more real
Tech giant Apple is reportedly researching how to add gyroscopes to its augmented reality (AR) headsets, providing users continuous haptic feedback that will feel real. Rishi Sunak plans law change to have Netflix regulated by Ofcom amid Harry and Meghan row
Rishi Sunak is planning a crackdown on Netflix which would see the streaming giant policed by Ofcom. The regulator does not currently cover Netflix, which is the most popular streaming service in the UK with 17 million households holding a subscription.
