Instagram will automatically restrict sensitive content for new teen users
San Francisco: Meta-owned photo and video sharing platform Instagram has announced that it will limit sensitive content for new teen users by default on the platform. Instagram said that the Sensitive Content Control has only two options for teens — “Standard” and “Less”. “New teens on Instagram under 16 years old will be defaulted into the ‘Less’ state. For teens already on Instagram, we will send a prompt encouraging them to select the ‘Less’ experience,” the platform said in a blogpost. “This will make it more difficult for young people to come across potentially sensitive content or accounts in Search, Explore, Hashtag Pages, Reels, Feed Recommendations and Suggested Accounts,” it added. Tesla wants videos of its vehicles crashing kid-sized dummies to be removed
San Francisco: The controversy surrounding the safety of Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) software has intensified as the car maker has demanded that an advocacy group remove videos of its electric vehicles crashing into kid-sized dummies. Google Play Games for PC feature expands to 5 countries
New Delhi: Google on Thursday expanded its Play Games for PC feature under an open beta to users in South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand and Australia. Earlier this year, the company announced that Google Play Games would be coming to PCs as a beta experience to a limited number of players. “Beginning today, we’re continuing our rollout by making Google Play Games beta available for download to all players in Australia,” said Arjun Dayal, Director of Product, Google Play Games. WhatsApp may soon bring iMessage-like profile photos within group chats
San Francisco: Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp is likely planning to bring iMessage-like profile photos within group chats. According to WABetaInfo, the platform is planning to introduce something that has been requested for a long time — profile photos of group participants. When this feature will be released to beta testers, profile photos of other group participants will show up next to all incoming messages within the group chat in a future update of the app. As happens with the reaction preview, there is no way to disable this feature since it will always be enabled by default for all group participants and there is no switch for it, the report said. Germany: Coradia iLint, World’s first passenger train powered by hydrogen
Trains across the world are operated using diesel, coal, electricity, and magnetic levitation as a source of power. But Germany unveiled a new hydrogen-powered train named Coradia iLint. French multinational Alstom supplied the trains to the Lower Saxony Transport Authority (LNVG ) in Germany. These trains produce zero-emission as they emit only steam and condensed water. The hydrogen fuel cells installed on the roof of the train combine with oxygen atoms present in the air to generate electricity. According to the Lower Saxony Transport Authority, replacing the hydrogen train with diesel locomotives will cut down 4,400 tonnes of CO2 released every year in Germany. New Delhi: NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope has captured new stunning images of Jupiter that will give scientists even more clues to the planet’s inner life. With giant storms, powerful winds, auroras, and extreme temperature and pressure conditions, Jupiter has a lot going on. San Francisco: An unopened first-generation 2007 iPhone in a sealed box has been sold for $35,000 (nearly Rs 28 lakh) in an auction in the US. On January 9, 2007, then Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the iPhone — a touchscreen mobile phone with an iPod, camera and Web-browsing capabilities, among other features — at the Macworld convention in San Francisco.
