Innovative helmet that helps reduce air pollution
Hyderabad: Shellios Technolabs, a Delhi-based startup, has come out with a new anti-pollution helmet. The helmet, named Puros, comes with a Bluetooth-enabled app that lets riders know when the helmet needs to be cleaned. It is integrated with a blower fan, electronic circuit, USB charging port, filter membrane, and a small circuit to purify the air. The anti-pollution helmet can potentially clean the air up to 80 percent. The air treatment system is located at the rear of the helmet to capture pollutants before sending air inside, allowing riders to breathe fresh air. Google admits its TV experience is slow, rolls out improvements
New Delhi: Google has admitted that its TV software is slow for users and after hearing their feedback, the company is rolling out some major updates to improve performance and manage storage on both Chromecast with Google TV and other smart TVs. The company said that via CPU optimisations and improvements to cache management, “we’ve reduced the time it takes for the Google TV home screen to load at startup so you can start browsing shows and movies faster.” These updates will be available on all devices over time, said Google which launched TV almost two years ago. Apple employees launch petition over company’s return-to-office stance
San Francisco: Apple employees have hit back at the tech giant’s return-to-office orders and launched a petition saying the firm risked stifling diversity and staff wellbeing by restricting their ability to work remotely, media reports say. The petition is in response to an all-employee memo from the CEO Tim Cook, who last week said workers would have to come into the office for at least three days a week from September, citing the Financial Times, the New York Post reported. Apple expands self-repair support to MacBooks
Apple Inc on Monday said that it would offer customers tools and know-how to repair and service their MacBook laptops at home, months after launching the service for iPhones. Apple said genuine parts and service tools will be available starting August 23. Customers can buy the repair kits or rent it for one-time use for $49. Self repairs are possible only on MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models with the M1 chips. In April, Apple launched self-repair services for select iPhones models in the United States, with plans to expand the service to Europe this year. Andhra: Cybercriminals hack retired teacher’s bank account, withdraw Rs 21 lakh
Cybercriminals allegedly hacked the bank account of a retired school teacher in Annamayya via WhatsApp link and stole Rs 21 lakh. According to police, Varalakshi, a resident of Reddeppanaidu Colony in Madanapalle town of Annamayya district, received a WhatsApp message from an unknown number. There was a link in the WhatsApp message and after clicking the link, money was debited from her bank account. Varalakshi claimed that since then, she has been receiving messages that the money has been deducted from her account. After contacting bank officials, she got to know that her account was hacked and Rs 21 lakh was withdrawn from her account. Varalakshi lodged a complaint to Cybercrime Police on Saturday. Online searches for 5G smartphones up 2 times in India
There has been nearly 2 times increase in searches for 5G smartphones on Flipkart in the first half of 2022 compared to the same period last year, the e-commerce platform said on Monday. According to platform sales trends, the demand for 5G smartphones in the Rs 10,000-15,000 has seen nearly a four times growth in the first half of 2022 as against the same period last year. Indians now spend 30 mins a day consuming memes
Indian smartphone users are spending 30 minutes a day on consuming memes and 80 per cent have increased meme consumption in the last year, a new report showed on Monday. While most users enjoy memes as a good way to release stress, 50 per cent expect their meme consumption to increase, according to the report by strategy consulting firm Redseer. “The shareability of memes makes them popular among groups with the same interest or even globally because most people find them relatable. New Delhi: Twitter is working on a new feature to put a label or tag on the phone numbers of verified user profiles, apart from the blue tick or badge the company places with the verified accounts.
