Clash breaks out between Congress, BJP workers in Karnakata’s Moodbidri

After the voting concluded for the Karnataka Assembly elections on Wednesday evening, a clash broke out between the BJP and Congress workers in Moodbidri, Dakshina Kannada.

Three Congress workers and a policeman were injured in the clash. Congress workers accused the BJP workers of pelting stones at Moodbidri Congress candidate Mithun Rai’s car while he visited a booth.

Police vehicles were also damaged. 

Section 144 was imposed in the Kavoor police station limits after a clash broke out between the workers of the two parties. However, the situation has now been brought under control.

Voting in the 224 Assembly seats of Karnataka with as many as 2,615 candidates in the fray took place on Wednesday. The counting of the votes will be done on May 13.
