CM Jagan starts ‘Mega Penance’ for good of public and AP state

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched the Ashtottara Satha Kundatmaka (108) Chandi, Rudra, Raja Syamala, Sudarshana Sahitha Sri Lakshmi Maha Yagnam here on Friday, praying for the welfare and development of AP State and its people.
He took the Yaga Sankalpam at the event held at the IGMC Stadium and also offered special pujas at the Goshala, giving haarati to the sacred cow, Kapila. He also participated in the Akhanda Deeparadhana. Yaa purohits recited vedic hymns and blessed the chief minister.
Deputy CM and endowments minister Kottu Satyanarayana said this was the first of its kind Rajashyamala Yagam being held by the AP Government.
He said that the Jagan-led AP government was dedicatedly and arduously working for the development and welfare of the public. “The CM took a vow for Mega Penance for the welfare of the people of Andhra Pradesh, as also for the preservation of Sanatana Dharma, development of the state as a greener land mass, for easier access to health and wealth for the people, for the welfare of the world, and for the all-round development of the state,” he said.
Satyanrayana noted that the Mega Penance was launched by the CM in the morning with a Mahamangalavaaidya Hridya Naada, Bhagwat Preeti Vedasvasti, Gopuja, Vighneswara – Vishvaksena Pujas, Punyahavachana, Dikshadharana, Ajasradiparadhana etc.
The Vishnu Sahasranama Recitation with 1008 devotees organised by the Sri Vishnusahasranama Recitation Mandali and the Sri Shiridi Saibaba Mandir, Mutyalampadu, was performed and Chaturveda recitations. Daylong devotional rituals and special pujas were held as part of the Mega Penance in the evening.
On Saturday, the recitations of Sri Venkateswara Rajashyamala Chandi Stotra and Chaturveda would be performed. The Srikara Shubhakaramuga Vedasvasti, Gopuja, Vigneswara – Vishvaksena Pujas, Punyahavachana rituals would follow.
The important Agni Mathan at the main yagashalas, Agni Pratishtha and setting fire of 108 kundams, homams etc and a special abhishekam are performed to the golden idol of Goddess Shri Lakshmi with Panchamrits. Distribution of Tirtha Prasadams to the devotees and the public would also be done.
