CM Revanth Reddy targets dropout reduction, stresses Intermediate education

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed education officials to ensure that every student who passes the 10th grade completes their Intermediate education.

Expressing concern over the dropout rate between 10th and 12th grades, he called for identifying and addressing the root causes.

During a review meeting at the Integrated Command Control Centre on Wednesday, Revanth Reddy stressed the importance of intermediate education and the need for proper guidance to students at this stage. He asked officials to conduct a study in states with low dropout rates and submit a comprehensive report.

He also instructed the authorities to hold discussions with all stakeholders and seek their suggestions to reduce the dropout rate.

The Chief Minister also reviewed the construction of Young India residential schools and instructed the officials to expedite construction work and submit weekly progress reports.

He said upon completion of the existing school buildings, the officials should identify land for a second school in each constituency. He also examined the construction designs of Veeranari Chakali Ailamma Women’s University and sought quick completion of tenders.
