Conspiracy to kill Arvind Kejriwal, claims Manish Sisodia; BJP says AAP ‘totally frustrated’
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has alleged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been conspiring to kill AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, fearing its defeat in the upcoming Delhi civic body and Gujarat Assembly polls. Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia alleged that former BJP Delhi President and MP Manoj Tiwari is openly asking his goons to attack CM Arvind Kejriwal. On the other hand, the BJP rebutted Sisodia’s claims, stating the AAP was ‘totally frustrated’ and that it was attempting to gain ‘public sympathy’.
In a tweet, reportedly in response to Manoj Tiwari’s tweet, Sisodia alleged the BJP’s modus operandi to execute the plan to kill Kejriwal was hatched and finalised
Manoj Tiwari’s tweet purportedly caught Sisodia’s attention. The former BJP’s Delhi unit chief Tiwari had shared his concerns over Kejriwal’s security. He tweeted, “I am worried about the safety of Arvind Kejriwal ji, because AAP workers and public are angry because of continuous corruption, ticket sale and friendship with rapist and massage episode in jail. Their MLA has also been beaten up. That’s why this should not happen with the CM of Delhi.. Punishment should be given by the court only”
Following Sisodia’s claims, the AAP issued a statement reacting to the controversy. The statement read, “The party strongly condemned the threats in bold words stating — The BJP is horrified by the huge public support AAP is receiving from both places, threatening to kill Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister elected with a huge mandate, the man who is the national convenor of the party running governments in two states, is an insult to the people of Delhi and the country. It is clear from BJP’s threat to CM Arvind Kejriwal that it has no faith in democracy, and that BJP can go to any extent to threaten.”
“Earlier, BJP people used to only abuse others, but now these people have also started giving death threats. If anything happens to CM Arvind Kejriwal or any other AAP leader or worker, BJP will be directly held responsible for it,” said an AAP official in a statement.
The AAP’s statement further stated, ‘”Bharatiya Janata Party has fallen so low that it is now conspiring to kill an elected chief minister. This whole conspiracy is a symbol of the BJP’s immense fear of CM Arvind Kejriwal and AAP in the run-up to the Gujarat and MCD elections. The BJP knows that it is going to badly lose the MCD and is destined to be kicked out of Gujarat next month. Every single BJP leader is completely frustrated and rattled because their shops will be shut forever after their crushing defeats in the MCD elections.”
‘…BJP HATE DELHIITES’: AAP
The AAP also said that the BJP leaders hated Delhiites.
“Through their open threats shot at the CM elected by the 2-crore people of Delhi, the BJP is disrespecting not only the mandate given to CM Arvind Kejriwal but is also damaging the social fabric of Delhi. If today, a goon of the BJP can get off by publicly showing his willingness to kill the Delhi CM, then we fear the travesties that the common man must face in BJP-ruled states,” the AAP said.
AAP also alleged ‘Despite their 15-year-long reign in Delhi Municipal Corporation and 27-year-long government in Gujarat, the BJP cannot talk about a single project as their own.
“The public will take revenge for this disrespect through the EVM,” AAP said while stating that CM Kejriwal and his family were safe and sound.
In the official statement, AAP alleged that the BJP had previously attacked Arvind Kejriwal.
“In the month of March, BJP workers attacked the CM’s residence. On the other hand, BJP has given a ticket to Pradeep Tiwari, one of the accused who attacked the CM’s house, from Ramesh Park Ward No. 91 of Moti Nagar Assembly,” AAP stated.
“AAP Gujarat’s CM face Isudan Gadhvi was also injured in an attack by BJP workers. Similarly, BJP has abused and assaulted many workers of Aam Aadmi Party in Gujarat,” the statement read.
BJP HITS BACK AT AAP
Meanwhile, Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said that the AAP had been reeking of frustration and the allegations were tabled to gain the public’s eye and sympathy.
“After today’s tweet by Manish Sisodia, it’s clear that the Aam Aadmi Party is totally frustrated and, to gain political space and public sympathy, Arvind Kejriwal can do anything including plan an attack on himself. After allegations of MCD ticket sales, and suspicious suicide by a party leader today, apart from bad publicity due to the Satyendar Jain issue, public perception of the Aam Aadmi Party stands shattered today,” he said.
