As per available information, the victim was looking to start a parcel delivery business, searched for options on Google, and found a link. Believing it to be a genuine one, he called the phone number that was provided.
According to the police, a person answered the call and, claiming to be a relationship manager of the company, persuaded the complainant to take a franchise. Under various pretexts including registration, agreement, NOC, machinery costs, etc., they collected a total of Rs 5.4 lakh from the complainant and cheated him by delivering nothing.
Based on the complaint, the Hyderabad Cybercrime police have booked a case and taken up investigation.
