Hyderabad: Although, there was a reduction in overall rate in the deaths in road accidents in Cyberabad with 842 people losing their lives in 2024 as against 866 deaths the previous year, the Outer Ring Road accidents have increased drastically.
This year, 178 accidents were reported on the Outer Ring Road while last year 91 accidents were reported. Of the 178 accidents reported, 43 were fatal accidents and remaining non-fatal.
Road safety on the Outer Ring Road was always a priority for the traffic police and several measures initiated to make it safer for the motorists. The traffic police attribute the accidents to rash and negligent driving by the drivers.
“After every accident a team visits the spot and conducts joint inspection and take up preventive measures,” said the traffic police official.
Across the Cyberabad, of the 842 deaths in road accidents, motor cyclist accounted for 55. 23 per cent deaths. A total of 465 people who were riding motorcycles died in the road accidents in Cyberabad followed by 261 pedestrians.
