Dalit Bandhu Sadhana Committee seeks immediate release of second phase assistance for beneficiaries

Questions why second phase of Dalit Bandhu scheme was implemented in Huzurabad and Madhira constituencies, but not in Nalgonda

Nalgonda: Dalit Bandhu Sadhana Committee State president Kokila Mahesh on Tuesday demanded the State government to release funds for the second phase assistance for Dalit Bandhu beneficiaries.

The State government issued proceedings allocating assistance to eligible beneficiaries, but the release of funds was halted due to election notification. Mahesh emphasised that 1,050 Dalit beneficiaries in Nalgonda constituency are still awaiting their funds and called for immediate action.

During a meeting held at the Ambedkar Bhavan in Nalgonda, presided over by Badupula Shankar, Mahesh expressed disappointment that the funds, despite being released, had not yet reached the Dalit beneficiaries. He questioned why the second phase of the scheme was implemented in Huzurabad and Madhira constituencies but not in Nalgonda district.

He further demanded the immediate release of funds that were approved and deposited in the collectors’ accounts in various constituencies such as Nalgonda, Suryapet, Thungathurthy, and Nakrekal. The state-wide struggle for the release of these funds will continue, and he warned that large-scale protests would be organized if the government does not respond.

Paladugu Nagarjuna, District General Secretary of the Anti-Caste Discrimination Struggle Association, raised concerns about the SC-ST Declaration announced by the Congress government in Chevella, questioning the status of the Ambedkar Abhaya Hasta scheme worth Rs 12 lakh. He criticized the lack of sincerity in implementing schemes announced for Dalits.
