DCA Telangana seizes Amla Churnam in Adilabad for making misleading advertisement

Hyderabad: During a raid against medicines moving in the market with misleading and objectionable advertisements, the Drugs Control Administration, Telangana, officials detected Amla Churnam, an ayurvedic medicine, from a medical store in Adilabad.
The DCA in a press release said Amla Churnam was being sold with misleading claims on its labels that it treats diseases of the optical system, which was a contravention of the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954. The stocks from the medical store were seized during the raid.
C Vivekananda Reddy, Drugs Inspector, Khairatabad carried out the raid and further investigation would be carried out and action taken as per the law against all the offenders, the press release said.
The DCA urged the citizens to report any suspected manufacturing activity related to drugs, including narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, in residential, commercial, or industrial areas, as well as any other complaints regarding illegal activities concerning medicines, through toll free No. 1800-599-6969 between 10.30 am and 5 pm on working days.
