Deepika Padukone remembers Irrfan Khan as Piku completes 8 years: ‘If I could relive this experience…’
Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone took a trip down memory lane as the film Piku completed eight years of release. Taking to her Instagram handle, Deepika dropped multiple pictures featuring Amitabh Bachchan and late actor Irrfan Khan. The actor also posted a hilarious snap, in which all the three lead actors are seen striking goofy poses.
She wrote in the caption, “It’s been 8 years since this gem of a movie released with these 2 very special people. And if I could relive this experience all over again, I’d do it in a heartbeat. @irrfan, I miss you! @amitabhbachchan , @sircarshoojit & @juhic3 I love you! To everyone who made this film possible, thank you for your energy.”
A fan remembered Deepika Padukone’s role in Piku and wrote, “Piku is indeed a gem of movie and will always have a special place in my heart.” Another wrote, “This movie will always remain my comfort watch, the best.”
Piku, helmed by Shoojit Sircar, was released in 2015. Irrfan had revealed in 2015 that he always wanted to do a film like Piku. As reported by PTI, Irrfan said, “It is a very entertaining and engaging film and love is a very important part of this story. It was Shoojit’s trust in me that he gave me a romantic lead. I was longing to do something like this. I also wanted to do comedy. Coincidently, I got both these elements in Piku.” Irrfan passed away in 2020 after battling cancer.
