Says apart from autonomous hydraulic-powered robot, cadaver dogs from Kerala have also been pressed into service
HYDERABAD: Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy said a Delhi-based expert agency had joined the rescue operations at Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel, which collapsed on February 22.
Among the eight persons, who were trapped under the debris, the body of Gurpreet Singh, a TBM operator, was recovered on March 9. During the last 20 days, different departments have been taking up rescue operations to trace the seven workers.
In addition to autonomous hydraulic-powered robot, which was used to clear the debris and dewatering purpose, cadaver dogs from Kerala have also been pressed into service.
It was one of the most complicated tunnel mishaps. Experts from different countries, who were engaged by the Delhi-based company, had also joined the operations, the Irrigation Minister said during an informal chat with mediapersons on Thursday.
