Suryapet: A family that failed to get an Indiramma house allotted by the State government staged a protest in front of the gram panchayat office by putting up a makeshift house at Enubamula village here on Saturday.
Kalakotla Pandu Ranganath erected a hut using palm fronds to protest the exclusion of his name from the recently approved list of 33 beneficiaries for the Indiramma housing scheme.
Expressing his anguish, Ranganath, a daily wage earner, demanded that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy intervene and immediately sanction an Indiramma house for his family.
Holding a placard and accompanied by his wife and children, Ranganath voiced his frustration, alleging that despite repeated appeals to village leaders and officials for a house, his name was deliberately not included in the final list.
He claimed that local authorities had promised him a house but failed to include his name in the government’s housing scheme. Later, Mandal Parishad Officer Rajesh clarified that the allocation of Indiramma houses was finalised based on the decisions of the Indiramma Committee.
