Hyderabad: Expressing her disappointment over the development of Yadagirigutta temple losing its focus, BRS leader and MLC, K Kavitha said on Wednesday that the newly formed government had not shown any visible development at the shrine during the past one year.

She visited the temple and had darshan of the presiding deities on Wednesday. Later speaking to media persons, she stressed that the development of Yadagirigutta should transcend politics, focusing on the spiritual and cultural importance of the site. She praised the leadership of BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao, under whom the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple had seen rapid development. Performing the Giri Pradakshina is considered a virtuous act, she said, and added that visiting the temple brings immense joy.

She emphasized that Yadagirigutta was the largest pilgrimage site in Telangana, and highlighted the major investment of Rs 1200 crore by Chandrashekhar Rao for its development. She mentioned that the Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Pushkarini was believed to be the Viraja River, which descended from heaven, adding to the sanctity of the place. The Giri Pradakshina is a cherished tradition for the people of Telangana, and she urged people from all over the state to participate in this sacred ritual.

Completing the Giri Pradakshina by climbing the steps to the temple is considered auspicious, she noted. Kavitha prayed for the blessings of Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy to serve the people better, underscoring the spiritual significance of the temple and its role in the lives of the people of Telangana.
