Dowry harassment by husband drives pregnant woman to suicide in Telangana’s Medak

A 19-year-old pregnant woman, Tirangari Manasa, reportedly died by suicide in Medak’s Tekmal mandal due to dowry harassment by her husband. Police have registered a case and begun investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death

Medak: A pregnant woman died, reportedly by suicide, at Hasan Mohammad Pally in Tekmal mandal on Thursday.

Tirangari Manasa (19), who was married to Sangameshwar of the same village a year ago, ended her life as she was reportedly unable to bear the harassment by her husband.

Sangameshwar is said to have harassed Manasa, demanding more dowry immediately after their wedding.

The police have registered a case. A probe is under way.
