Addagudur: Medical officials in Addagudur mandal of Nalgonda district are making the best use of technology to ensure timely help to patients.
The officials on Friday used a drone to send samples collected from TB patients in Gattusingaram mandal to the Ramannapet government hospital.
“The distance from Addagudur to Ramannapet is 53 km and if sent by vehicle, it would have taken one hour and 20 minutes but with a drone, it took only 30 minutes,” said Mandal Medical Officer Bharat Kumar.
He said 11 samples were collected and sent from the village. The drone services are being used to collect blood samples from patients and suspects in remote areas and sent to labs to ensure the patient receives timely treatment.
Public Health Nurse Sharada, supervisor Sarojana, and ASHA workers participated in the programme.
