Dua kar rahe hai aap wapis form me aaye: Shaheen Afridi’s golden words to Virat Kohli win the internet – watch

India and Pakistan will renew their rivalry in their respective opening games of the 2022 Asia Cup. The arch-rivals will face each other at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday (August 28) in a game that will have the eyes of the world on it.

This will be the first time the two sides will go head-to-head with each other since Pakistan’s historic win over India in the 2021 T20 World Cup at the same venue almost a year ago. In the build-up to the game, the two teams have had some friendly interactions with each other which have won the hearts of fans.

A video clip of Pakistan skipper Babar Azam and Indian talisman batter Virat Kohli meeting and greeting each other with a warm embrace went viral. Later, Pakistan’s ace pacer Shaheen Afridi was seen meeting various members of the Indian team including Yuzvendra Chahal, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Kohli.

It is Shaheen’s conversation with Kohli that has won the hearts of cricket fans. After Kohli inquired about Shaheen’s injury and took an update on his fitness status, the left-arm pacer was heard telling Kohli that he is praying for him to rediscover form soon. “Aapke lie dua kar rahe hai aap wapis form me aaye (We are praying that your form comes back),” Shaheen was heard telling Kohli in a video shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) official Twitter account.

Shaheen will miss the Asia Cup due to a knee injury which he suffered during the Test series against Sri Lanka last month. The 22-year-old will be out of action for 4-6 weeks and will not be available for selection for the 7-match home series against England too. He is expected to return to action in time for the 2022 T20 World Cup.
