Dwayne Johnson Breaks Silence On Henry Cavill’s Exit From Superman
Henry Cavill’s exit from Superman has been confirmed by James Gunn just after he made a cameo appearance in Black Adam. His cameo appearance was made possible by Dwayne who played an important role in bringing him back but it was not worth it as the directors have confirmed his permanent exit from the franchise.
We still do not know why Dwayne was so keen on bringing Superman back to make an end-credit scene in Black Adam, setting a new storyline for a brawl between Superman and Black Adam.
Dwayne finally broke the silence and in a statement given to Variety. He said “All that I can do, and all that we could do when we were making Black Adam, was to put our best foot forward and surround ourselves with the best people and deliver the best movie we could,” Johnson said. “Our audience score was in the 90s. Critics took a couple of shots, but that’s just the business of it. It’s almost like when you have a pro football team and your quarterback wins championships and your head coach wins championships and then a new owner comes in and says, ‘Not my coach, not my quarterback. I’m going to go with somebody new.’”
It seemed that Dawyne was referring to the owners of DC who have created a new line of Superman and Batman movies, one thing has been made clear Dawyne will be returning as Black Adam in the future.
In December, Johnson said: “James Gunn and I connected, and Black Adam will not be in their first chapter of storytelling. However, DC and Seven Bucks have agreed to continue exploring the most valuable ways Black Adam can be utilized in future DC multiverse chapters.”
Several fans believed that it was really unfair to Henry as he confirmed his return as Superman, while DC leadership decided to bring someone else to star in the franchise. The new Superman movie is written by Gunn himself and will be released in 2025 where Superman will be much younger. Henry has several other projects lined up he recently signed up for Warhammer40,000, while he has dropped from his role as Geralt in The Witcher.
