Security arrangements were made using 842 policemen including four ACPs, 14 Inspectors, 19 Sub-Inspectors, 182 head constables, 366 constables, 29 women constables, 100 constables.
Adilabad: Elaborate arrangements were in place for immersion of Ganesh idols in Adilabad, Mancherial districts on Tuesday.
A total of 1,000 policemen were deployed to prevent untoward incidents during the immersion of 810 idols placed across the district. Multi Zone Inspector General of Police S Chandrashekhar Reddy will oversee security measures. He requested the devotees to celebrate the ceremony of the immersion in a peaceful weather.
As many as 200 CCTV cameras were installed along the routes to keep a watch on the immersion procession in the district. The district headquarters has been divided into seven clusters. Chief guests would perform prayers at an idol placed on the premises of Sri Saraswathi Shishumandir to start the procession in the town.
Meanwhile, seven spots were identified across the banks of Godavari river to immerse the 2,307 idols placed in Mancherial district. The spots include Rayapatnam bridge, Godavari Pushkara ghat in Luxettipet, Gouthameshwara Swamy temple in Mancherial, Intake well in Seetharampalli of Naspur mandal, Indraram in Jaipur mandal, Godavari bridge near Godavarikhani, Pedda Cheruvu in Chennur and Pochamma Cheruvu in Bellampalli.

Traffic restrictions were imposed to ensure smooth passage of procession. Around 100 CCTV cameras were installed as part of surveillance. Expert divers were placed at the spots of immersion.
Ramagundam Commissioner of Police M Srinivasulu along with Mancherial DCP A Bhaskar inspected venues of immersion of the idols at Rayapatnam bridge in Dandepalli and Gouthameshwara Swamy temple in Mancherial.
Srinivasulu said that security arrangements were made for smooth conduct of the immersion and to avoid inconvenience to devotees. He stated that steps were taken to prevent untoward incidents and accidents at the time of the procession.
Similar elaborate arrangements were made in Nirmal and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts. Route maps were already prepared, while venues of immersion of idols were identified.
