Adilabad: Farmers in Mukhra (K) village of Echoda mandal performed an abhishekam with freshly harvested cotton to a flex poster of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Saturday, expressing their wish to see him return to power.
They recalled that they had led a stable and comfortable life during Chandrashekhar Rao’s tenure, saying they received crop investment support on time and had easy access to fertilisers and other inputs, along with smooth procurement of cotton and soya produce in every agricultural season under the BRS government.
The farmers said they are currently grappling with several restrictions, including norms on moisture content between 8 percent and 12 percent, and limits such as seven acres per quintal. They felt their situation would improve only if Chandrashekhar Rao returned as Chief Minister and raised slogans demanding his comeback.
Sarpanch Gadge Meenakashi, MPTC member G Subhash and several farmers participated in the event.
