Mancherial: An employee of Orient Cement Company-Devapur and his son were killed, while his wife and younger son sustained injuries when a car mowed down a motorbike the family was riding near Itikyal village in Luxettipet mandal of Mancherial district on Sunday.
Police said that Sidam Shankar (38) and his son Sagar (12) received critical injuries when the car hit the bike. Sagar died on the spot while Shankar succumbed to the injuries while being shifted to a hospital in Karimnagar.

Chinnaiah said that Shankar played a vital role in protecting the rights of employees and workers of the cement manufacturer. He opined that Shankar’s death has left a void for tribal communities and the BRS.
