Hyderabad: A five-year-old girl was crushed to death after she came under the wheel of a private school bus at Mallampet in Dundigal on Friday.
K Mahanvitha, a grade I student of an international school is reported to have inadvertently stepped in front of the vehicle resulting in the mishap.
According to the police, the bus driver who missed to notice Mahanvitha moved the school bus and the girl was crushed to death. The girl reportedly stood very close in front of the bus cutting the driver’s view, a police official added.
On receiving information, the Dundigal police visited the spot and started an investigation. The bus driver was taken into custody. A case of negligence causing death was booked.
Meanwhile, Mahanvitha’s parents alleged negligence on part of the bus driver and the school management. They said the management tried to down play the incident and attempted to protect the driver.
The body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital morgue for autopsy.
