Reports indicate that Forest Section Officer Vinod and two other officials were on patrol duty Thursday night when they spotted an earth mover being used to uproot trees. They seized the machine and brought it to the forest office. Shortly after, the owner, Ganta Suraj Reddy, arrived with two accomplices and began attacking Vinod and the other staff members with iron rods.
Mulugu: Three persons allegedly attacked forest officials with iron rods after they seized their earthmover vehicle in the Tadvai forest range late Thursday.
According to reports, Forest Section Officer Vinod along with two other officials, were on patrolling duty on Thursday night and the team spotted an earth mover being used to uproot trees and seized it.
The earth mover was taken to the forest office and after sometime the owner of the machine Ganta Suraj Reddy along with two others arrived and started attacking Vinod and other staff present at the office with iron rods.
Vinod suffered head injuries and Forest Beat Officer Sarat Chandra too suffered serious injuries in the attack. The injured officials were shifted to government hospitals by their colleagues. The attackers took away the JCB along with them.
The forest officials have lodged a complaint with the police and search is being carried out to nab the accused.
