GHMC on alert after dengue cases reported in Sanath Nagar

GHMC has intensified anti-larva operations after two dengue cases were reported in Sanath Nagar’s SRT Colony. Health officials urged residents to prevent water stagnation as teams conduct fever surveys and mosquito control measures in vulnerable areas.

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Health Wing has gone on high alert after two dengue cases were reported at SRT Colony in Sanath Nagar.

GHMC Additional Commissioner (Health) CN Raghu Prasad visited the affected colony near Sanath Nagar Bus Stand on Saturday to assess the situation and interacted with patients to check on their health.

He instructed medical officers to conduct dengue diagnostic tests for those with fever and suspected symptoms in nearby colonies. The official also directed teams to carry out anti-larva operations and identify mosquito breeding spots to curb the spread of the disease.

“Anti-larva operations should be intensified in slums, schools, and hostels. Residents should ensure that rainwater does not stagnate around homes,” Raghu Prasad said.

Health Joint Commissioner Shankar, Assistant Medical Officer Chandra Shekhar Reddy, and officials from the health and malaria departments participated in the inspection.
