Girls Do Better in EAMCET, AP Students Sweep Most Top Ranks

Hyderabad: Girls outperformed boys in both streams of Eamcet, according to the results released here on Thursday. However, boys dominated the top five ranks in both agriculture and engineering streams.
Andhra Pradesh students swept the Eamcet top ranks, led by Sanapala Anirudh in the engineering stream with 158.89 marks, and B Satya Raja Jaswanth in the agriculture stream with 155 marks. Nine out of 10 engineering stream toppers were from Andhra Pradesh or those who are natives of the neighbouring state and seven out of 10 in the agriculture stream.
Data showed that for the agriculture stream, 84.63 per cent of boys and 87.02 of girls had qualified, while for the engineering stream it was 79.21 and 82.07 respectively.
In the engineering stream, after Anirudh, the top 10 rankers were Yakkanti Pani Venkata (AP), Maneendhar Reddy (AP), Challa Umesh Varun (AP), Abhineet Majety, Ponnathota Pramod Kumar Reddy (AP), Maradana Dheeraj Kumar (AP), Vadde Shanvitha Reddy (AP), Boyina Sanjana (AP), Nandyala Prince Branham Reddy (AP) and Meesalya Pranathi Sreeja (AP).
Nasika Venkat Teja (AP) was the second ranker in the agriculture stream, followed by Saphal Lakshmi Pasupulati, Durgempudi Karthikeya Reddy (AP), Bora Varun Ghakravarathi (AP), Devagudi Guru Sasidhar Reddy, Vangipuram Harshil Sai(AP), Daddanala Sai Chidvilas Reddy (AP), Gandhamaneni Giri Varshita (AP), and Kollabathula Pritham Siddharth.
The total number of students who appeared from Andhra Pradesh was 18,205 against 88,309 from Telangana. The number of students who qualified from Andhra Pradesh is 16,508, or 90.67 per cent against 75,427 students (85.4 per cent) from Telangana.
The results were announced by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. Education minister P. Sabitha Indra Reddy released the result and congratulated candidates, colleges and schools and parents.
As soon as the results were announced, the result link was activated on the official website at eamcet.tsche.ac.in, but crashed for a few minutes due to heavy traffic. The website kept showing ‘runtime error’ for a brief while before going back to normalcy.
A total of 3,20,683 candidates registered for the exam in both streams and of them 94 per cent had taken the test. Attendance in the A&M stream was 92.35 per cent and in the engineering stream 95.09 per cent. The pass percentage of agriculture and medical stream was higher – 86.31 per cent, while 80.34 per cent of the engineering candidates have qualified.
The Eamcet was held from May 10 to 14 two shifts, from 9 am to 12 noon and 3 pm to 6 pm.

Srinivasa Rao, secretary, TSCHE were present when the minister released the results.
