Harish Rao expressed his ire, stating that Telangana received less than half of the NDRF funds compared to Andhra Pradesh.
Hyderabad: Former Minister and senior BRS MLA T Harish Rao lashed out at the Central government, for injustice towards Telangana in the allocation of National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) resources. He expressed his ire, stating that Telangana received less than half of the NDRF funds compared to Andhra Pradesh.
The Union government on Tuesday approved release of Rs 416.8 crore to Telangana and Rs 1,036 crore to Andhra Pradesh as the Central share from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and an advance from the NDRF in view of the recent floods. The Telangana government sought Rs Rs 5,000 crore towards interim relief for the flood damage.
Taking to X, Harish Rao criticised the BJP, questioning the shabby treatment towards Telangana, despite electing eight BJP MPs from the State. “Telangana has been given zero in union Budget allocations. No State-specific grants were allocated to the State. And now, less than half of funds granted to Andhra Pradesh, have been allocated to Telangana from NDRF. Is this what Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas means?” he asked.
