Rahul Gandhi, the former head of the Congress, is reported to have said that no religion promotes hatred and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath cannot be a religious leader due to the language he uses. He allegedly said this on Monday during an interaction with a group of civil society activists as part of a follow-up to the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Yogendra Yadav, the head of Swaraj India, organised a closed-door meeting at the Constitution Club where Mr. Gandhi spoke, accusing the BJP of engaging in adharam (impiety) in U.P. He also claimed that wearing a saffron robe does not make one a religious leader.
