Heavy rains cause power outages in Greater Hyderabad

The officials claimed that power was restored within two hours in all the affected areas. The officials have asked the people to contact 1912 in the event of power disruptions

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad area on Friday received heavy rainfall and strong winds causing power outages in various areas of the city.

Due to heavy rains, at many places branches of several trees fell over the electric infrastructure causing damaging leading to power outages for over two to three hours.

According to Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) officials, as many as 19 feeders broke down due to trees falling on power poles leading to failure of insulators in Banjara Hills, Bairamalguda, Manikonda, Bandla Guda, Kismatpur, Shankar Math, Tarnaka, Langar Houz and other areas in Greater Hyderabad causing grave inconvenience to the residents.

TGSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Musharraf Ali Faruqui along with senior officials supervised the restoration works.

The officials claimed that power was restored within two hours in all the affected areas. The officials have asked the people to contact 1912 in the event of power disruptions.
