Hyderabad: A 19-year-old engineering student died by suicide at her house in Medipally after her mother scolded her for spending a lot of time on her mobile.
The victim K Spandana, pursuing engineering first year at a private college stayed along with her parents at Sai Hills, Medipally. On Sunday, while she was at her house, her mother noticed that she was constantly checking her mobile phone and chatting with someone.
Spandana’s mother scolded her for failing to concentrate on studies. The woman reportedly slipped into depression and hanged to the ceiling fan in the bedroom using a scarf, said the police. A case is registered.
