Shivaputra, a resident of Chengta in Karnataka, was shifted to a private hospital in Hyderabad after he collapsed
Hyderabad: Relatives of a 43-year-old police constable Shivaputra, a resident of Chengta in Chincholi of Karnataka, who was declared brain dead by doctors, have donated his organs to needy patients under state-run Jeevandan organ donation initiative.
A few days ago, Shivaputra, posted as police constable at Chengta Police Station, collapsed due to giddiness. Colleagues and family members rushed him to nearest local hospital and later shifted him to a private hospital in Hyderabad.
After emergency treatment, with no change in his health condition, the doctors declared him brain dead. The constable’s wife, Kaveri, gave consent to donate his organs. The surgeons retrieved two donor kidneys and liver and allocated them to needy patients.
