Hyderabad: A painter died by suicide at his house in Santoshnagar due to personal issues on Sunday night.
Vallu Arun (45), a resident of RN Colony of Santoshnagar, lived with his two children — daughter Khushi (4) and son Tarun. His wife died by suicide a year-and-a-half ago due to some family issues.
After her death, Arun hit the bottle and began to neglect the children. At this point, his sister Gokle Shailaja took a room on rent nearby and looked after Arun and his children.
“On Sunday, Arun is suspected to have ended his life by hanging himself from the ceiling fan at home,” Santoshnagar Sub-Inspector P Manikanta Raju said.
The police registered a case and took up investigation. The body was shifted to the Osmania Hospital mortuary where a post-mortem examination was conducted.
