Hyderabad gang arrested for selling duplicate mobile accessories, property worth Rs 1.01 crore seized

They were selling duplicate accessories of Apple Brand by printing and affixing logos on the boxes in violation of the copyright act and cheating the public

Hyderabad: A gang selling duplicate accessories of mobile phones was caught by the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force team along with the Abids police on Monday. The police seized property worth Rs 1.01 crores from them.

The arrested are Vikram Singh, (30) owner of Shree Mataji Mobiles, Suresh Kumar Rajpurohit (25), owner of R G Mobiles, Natharam Chowdhary (25), owner of Rajaram Mobiles and Mohammed Sarfaraz (24) owner of Sapna mobiles.

According to the police, the gang was selling duplicate mobile accessories of Apple Brand by printing and affixing logos on the boxes in violation of the copyright act and cheating the public by passing off the counterfeit product as genuine.

The gang was bringing the counterfeit items from Mumbai and selling it to the customers at Jagadish market, the police added.
