Hyderabad gears up for Shivaratri

Hectic activity is underway to complete arrangements including erection of pandals and providing basic amenities like drinking water for devotees at prominent Shiva temples in Keesaragutta and even at the Sri Raja Rajeswara Swamy Temple in Vemulawada.

Hyderabad: With just a day remaining for Shivaratri celebrations on Wednesday, Shiva temples across Hyderabad and districts are being decked-up, as temple committees race against time to complete last-minute arrangements to manage influx of devotees.

The local markets are buzzing with activity with retailers stocking-up fruits and flowers in large quantities for Wednesday’s sale. Almost all the major junctions located near colonies in Hyderabad are flooded with fruits including watermelon, apples, oranges, guava, grapes and flowers of different kinds, which will be in huge demand all through Wednesday.

Hectic activity is underway to complete arrangements including erection of pandals and providing basic amenities like drinking water for devotees at prominent Shiva temples in Keesaragutta and even at the Sri Raja Rajeswara Swamy Temple in Vemulawada.

Preparations are also being taken-up by the temple committee at the famous Shiva temple at Tappachabutra, so that devotees do not have to face any difficulty while performing religious rituals on Shivaratri. Works are also underway at the Srisailam Temple and thousand pillar temple of Shiva in Warangal where thousands of devotees are expected to visit on Wednesday.
