Hyderabad: A local court on Wednesday remanded ‘Lady Aghori’ alias Srinivas alias Shiva Vishnu Brahma Alluri to judicial custody in connection with cheating, threatening and extortion case of a woman that was earlier booked in Mokila.
Earlier on Tuesday, the police had arrested Shiva Vishnu Brahma Alluri from Uttar Pradesh and shifted to Mokila police station for questioning. After about three-hour-long questioning by senior officials, the aghori underwent a medical check-up at the Chevella Government Hospital before being produced before the magistrate.
Following the court order, the aghori was shifted to the Sangareddy District Jail.
The self-proclaimed Aghori claimed to provide solutions to all problems of the complaint by performing ‘special pujas’, collected about Rs 9.8 lakh and cheated her. When asked to return the money, Aghori threatened and kill her.
Based on the complaint from the woman, the Mokila police booked a case and took up investigation. The police examined the surveillance cameras and other technical evidence and traced the Aghori to Uttar Pradesh and took the suspect into custody.
