Hyderabad: Laxman questions Praja Palana Day celebrations

K Laxman alleged that the State government in order to please the Majlis party was staying away from Telangana Liberation Day celebrations.

Hyderabad: Finding fault with the State government decision to celebrate September 17, the day on which the erstwhile Hyderabad State was integrated into the Indian union in 1948, as Telangana Praja Palana Day, senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha member K Laxman alleged that under the pressure from the AIMIM leadership, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was not taking part in the Telangana Liberation Day celebrations officially organized by the Centre at Parade Grounds.

Addressing the media after inspecting the arrangements being made for the Telangana Liberation Day celebrations at Parade Grounds on Friday, Laxman alleged that the State government in order to please the Majlis party was staying away from Telangana Liberation Day celebrations.

Coming down heavily on the Chief Minister, the senior BJP leader said Revanth Reddy was organising Telangana Praja Palana Day to mislead people about the history of Telangana liberation day.

“There is no meaning of celebrating Telangana Praja Palana Day on September 17. All this drama is being enacted to please the Majlis. Congress is also following the same policy of BRS,” he said.
