Hyderabad: On the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary celebrations of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, a seminar on the renowned social reformer was organised at Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT), Gandipet.
Speaking on the occasion, Retired Degree College Lecturer and Member of Executive Council of various Central Universities, Professor P Murali Manohar, who was the Chief Guest, said that Ahilyabai Holkar was a courageous woman and great social reformer.
“She played a key role in preserving Sanatan Dharma during the 17th century. She also earned a reputation as a queen known for her impartial and just rule during her reign,” he said.
Principal, MGIT, Prof G Chandramohan Reddy said “As educators, we should follow the methods Ahilyabai Holkar adopted for nation-building and socio-economic reforms”.
