Hyderabad: The Punjagutta police have arrested a 38-year-old man, identified as Y Reddappa, in connection with the rape and murder of an Assamese woman whose body was found near Begumpet on Thursday.
According to the police, Reddappa, a native of Ananthapur in Andhra Pradesh, had confessed to the crime, stating that he met the 35-year-old woman on the night of October 22, near Greenlands, Begumpet. After consuming liquor together, they had a consensual physical activity. When Reddappa tried to get close to her again, the victim resisted. Angered by it, he assaulted and throttled her to death.
