Hyderabad: Notorious chain snatcher, ganja smuggler Syed Sayeed Hussain alias Lamba arrested with associates

The arrested individuals are Syed Sayeed Hussain alias Lamba (39), Ameer Khan (31), Farooq Khan (27), Mohd Ghouse (40), and Mohd Azam Khan (27), all residents of Nawab Sahab Kunta. The gang was apprehended by a special team from the Hyderabad Detective Department after receiving a tip-off from informants.
Hyderabad: A notorious chain snatcher cum ganja smuggler Syed Sayeed Hussain alias Lamba, who is involved in 250 criminal cases was arrested along with his four associates on Tuesday. The police seized 21 kilograms of ganja, five mobile phones and a Maruti Car from them.
The arrested are Syed Sayeed Hussain alias Lamba, (39), Ameer Khan (31), Farooq Khan (27), Mohd Ghouse (40) and Mohd Azam Khan (27), all residents of Nawab Sahab Kunta.
The gang was caught by the special team of the Hyderabad Detective Department following a tip off from informants.
According to the police, the Lamba was bringing the ganja from Nagpur in his car to the city and supplying it to different persons at a higher price. He was into the business for some time.
Lamba, is a notorious chain snatcher of the city and was arrested by the police along with his associates in tri-commissionerates for several chain snatching cases. He had also attacked a policeman in the city with a knife when he tried to apprehend him earlier. He had maintained a gang of notorious unsocial elements from Kalapather, Nawab Sahab Kunta and Jahanuma locality.
Due to huge demand for ganja in the city following the crackdown by the police, Lamba decided to smuggle the contraband from other cities and sell it in the city.
