Hyderabad: Three suspects, two rowdy sheeters held during cordon and search at Gandimaisamma

During a night-long cordon and search operation in Gandimaisamma, Dundigal police detained three suspects and two rowdy sheeters. Over 1,900 individuals were checked, vehicles seized, drugs and liquor confiscated, and traffic challans worth Rs 1 lakh were cleared.

Hyderabad: The Dundigal police conducted a cordon and search activity at Gandimaisamma and surrounding areas and detained three suspects and two rowdy sheeters on Thursday night.

Nearly 230 police personnel from the rank of the DCP to Home Guards, including women searched around 500 houses and checked 1,985 persons during the search. Of those checked, 1,939 persons belonged to other states.

During the search, 3 three-wheelers, and 2 cars without valid documents were seized for verification. Two persons who were found to have been consuming drugs, were taken into custody. Further, 155 liquor bottles were seized, 42 traffic violation cases were booked and pending traffic challans worth Rs 1 lakh were cleared

Senior police officials who interacted with the residents enquired about their needs and alerted them in view of the heavy rains.
