Hyderabad: A woman police constable, who was allegedly upset over financial problems, died by suicide by hanging at her house at Teacher’s Colony in Hastinapuram on Monday.
Akula Deepika (38), who was working at the Nagole police station, was staying with her husband Ravi Kumar and other family members in a rented house in Hastinapuram.
According to the police, Deepika was upset over financial problems and debts. She had shared her situation with close friends and colleagues.
On Monday, she hanged herself from the ceiling fan in her bedroom. On receiving information, the police visited the spot.
Based on a complaint from her husband, the Meerpet police booked a case and took up an investigation.
