HYDRAA frees park land worth Rs 40 crore from land sharks in Hyderabad’s Chandanagar

Move follows complaint by residents of Mytrayee Nagar that the one-acre land has been encroached upon, converted into plots, and sold

Hyderabad: Responding to a complaint received in Prajavani, HYDRAA authorities retained one-acre park land worth Rs 40 crore at Mytrayee Nagar in Chandanagar. Residents of Mytrayee Nagar had approached HYDRAA and complained that park land had been encroached upon, converted into plots, and sold. As the issue was under court litigation, the park land was filled with shrubs, resulting in poisonous snakes entering the colony.

HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath on verification of the layout identified the one-acre land earmarked for the park and deployed men and machinery and retained the park land.

In another instance, HYDRAA demolished an unauthorised structure built by encroaching on public roads at Jayapuri Colony in Ghatkesar. In 1968, the layout for Jayapuri Colony in Survey nos: 559, 563, 566 was prepared, and roads were laid, but land sharks built unauthorised structures by encroaching on them.
