Some people developing real estate projects without prior approval of Director of Town, Country Planning
Mancherial: Illegal layouts continue to sprout in the town even after conversion of Mancherial municipality into a corporation.
Some people, allegedly followers of local MLA K Premsagar Rao, have developed a real estate project on the outskirts of Rangapet in survey number 75 in the heart of the town without obtaining prior approval of the Director of Town, Country Planning (DTCP). They did not convert the agricultural land to commercial one, under the Non-agriculture Lands Assessment Act (NALA), causing huge revenue losses to the government.
While many developers who were reeling under crisis due to stoppage of registrations of assets even after paying huge taxes to the government under NALA, certain people are selling house sites by openly flouting norms with the help of their proximity to the MLA. The real estate developers have requested the officials to take action against those who violate the rules and evade taxes.
It was learnt that the developers of the venture started selling the sites claiming that they paid tax to the government under NALA. Revenue officials said that the developers had submitted an application for conversion of the agricultural land into commercial one. The process of conversion was yet to be completed, the officials said.
