India-Bhutan strive to firm up ties, delegation attends International Happiness Day conference

Indian delegation attends conference in Thimphu on March 20; meets the Ambassador for talks on bilateral relations and other key issues
HYDERABAD: India’s Ambassador to Bhutan Sudhakar Dalaila said India and Bhutan share strong and enduring ties. He also highlighted Bhutan’s initiatives to enhance citizens’ happiness and acknowledged India’s significant role in the country’s development.
An Indian delegation that attended the International Happiness Day conference in Thimphu on March 20 met with the Ambassador for discussions on bilateral relations and other key issues on Saturday.
International president of the Association of Buddhist Tour Operators (ABTO) Mallepalli Lakshmaiah urged better facilities for Buddhist tourists from India and greater public awareness of the Happiness Index in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and beyond.
The meeting was attended by former UGC Chairman S K Thorat, former Telangana Higher Education Council Chairman R Limbadri, and others.
