Indian Coffee Shop In England Charges Customers Double The Price For Being Rude

An Indian Cafe owner has a very genius way of making sure his customers are polite to his staff and one another.

Chaii Point charges double to rude customers

This shop, named Chaii Stop in Preston, Lancashire, has introduced a new rule where it will charge customers different prices for the same drink depending on how they order. If one is rude, then the same drink will be double the price.

According to the Daily Mail, Usman Hussain opened the shop selling chai, doughnuts, street food, and desserts. By enforcing this very new rule, he hopes that it will enforce the ‘good vibes only’ culture of his business.

The owner also shared the sign explaining his new rule to the customers. It explains that saying ‘Desi Chai’ will cost £5, while saying ‘Desi Chai please’ will cost £3. When one goes a step further, saying ‘Hello, Desi Chai please’ will cost just £1.90.

Even though the owner has not experienced a bad-mannered customer yet, he hopes that the new rules will force people to be polite and kind to the staff.  He told the Daily Mail, ‘I think it’s a nice reminder to use your manners, because unfortunately, sometimes we do need reminding,’ the soon-to-be father-of-two said. ‘We’ve never struggled with rude customers, but since having the sign, people are definitely coming in more open and having a laugh with us.’

Mr. Hussain was inspired by a post he saw of an American cafe which was enforcing a similar rule. He now thought of using the same technique at his cafe. According to him, the staff have noticed a much friendlier environment and more customers as well.

As of now, no customers have been charged double the amount.

What a unique idea.
