iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max design details leaked: Here is all we know about the 2024 iPhone Pro models

One of the biggest smartphone launches for this year is going to be the iPhone 16 series. As is tradition every year, Apple will most likely launch the new 2024 flagship iPhones in September this year. Which means, we are still months away from anything going official. And considering Apple likes to stay tight lipped about its launches till the last possible moment, we aren’t hearing anything from the Cupertino giant any time soon. However, leaks and speculations around the iPhone 16 have been unstoppable for months already now. And just days ago, some important design details about the iPhone 16 Pro models have also leaked, that suggest that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max may have bigger displays and larger batteries compared to the 2023 iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are set to feature larger screens, approximately 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, respectively, according to a recent report from Macrumors. The iPhone 16 Pro is anticipated to sport a 6.27-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max is likely to boast a 6.85-inch screen.

With the increased screen dimensions, the upcoming iPhones are expected to have slightly larger dimensions in terms of height and width compared to their predecessors.

The expanded size of the devices is also speculated to offer Apple more internal space for various components. This potential development could lead to the inclusion of larger and more enduring batteries in the iPhone 16 Pro models. Additionally, improvements to the display are also under consideration.

Besides the larger displays, Apple is also expected to introduce a new Capture Button in the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models, which will be designed to have haptic feedback, providing a tactile response when touched, without any physical movement upon pressing. The button is expected to be responsive to the pressure applied, thanks to an integrated force sensor. Reportedly, the Capture Button will simplify the video recording process for users. It is said to initiate video recording instantly, streamlining the entire procedure. A prototype of the phone has indicated that this capture button might be situated on the right side of the device, ensuring easy accessibility. Furthermore, the button could potentially have different functions based on the pressure exerted. For instance, a lighter touch could capture photos, while a firmer press might initiate video recording.

Additionally, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro models will likely be powered by the new A18 Bionic chipset. Reports also suggest that the iPhone 16 Pro models will come with a new “tetra-prism” telephoto lens that facilitates a 5x optical zoom for improved close-up shots. The phones are also believed to feature a 48MP ultrawide camera, which would be quite an improvement over the current 12 MP ultra wide sensor on the iPhone 15 Pro models.

Do note, the iPhone 16 series is still months away from going official. While some of these speculations may actually turn out to be true, it’s best to take every rumour with a pinch of salt, until Apple officially reveals the details later this year.
